The joy of the exercising cannot be found in other people’s recipes

Use the power of initial enthusiasm to find your own exercising style. With the initial enthusiasm, the following of a recipe - every recipe - is successful when the energy speaks of the enthusiasm of determination and willpower. However, following the recipe will not lead to strengthening motivation in the long run, unless you accidentally managed to find one that supports your own style.

You can’t find the joy of exercising with the recipes of other people

When our book “Finding the joy of exercising – exercise in your own style” appeared, nice interview requests from media representatives reached us. In the interviews, recommendations and tips were requested without exception how different types of people should start exercising, how to avoid yo-yo movements or how to stop with it after a few weeks.

We understand the question of the editorial team, because the readers are thirsty for tips and the magazine sells well if it promises a solution to the reader’s motivation challenge. The reader wants a simple recipe that can be followed and whose motivation problem is solved with a magic wand. The reader has so many other things to do and to think about that he simply has no time to think about and guess how to move and where he can find motivation. Our book is based on the fact that permanent motivation and joy in exercising for most people cannot be found by following a recipe or a tip. I believe that this has been confirmed by the experience of many.

We did not agree to give the editorial team recipes or tips, even if we had some. Universal practice recipes how to succeed are wrong, in terms that they do not fit everyone. Tips are good sources of ideas. The tips are useful if you try several different ones and then think about what worked for you and what did not. For example, one tries to measure, plan carefully and to challenge himself or combine them in different ways. Follow the tips with the intention of selecting the most suitable for you and creating your own story from it. (However, the practical and precise type does not like to try out because he thinks it is a frustrating test and error rumba.)

Use the power of initial enthusiasm to find your own exercise style

With the initial enthusiasm, the following of a recipe – every recipe – is successful when the energy speaks of the enthusiasm of determination and willpower. However, following the recipe will not lead to strengthening motivation in the long run, unless you accidentally managed to find one that supports your own style. Since the motivation is strengthened in different ways and by different things, everyone should search for and find themselves. Or to express it more positively: everyone can go on an interesting research trip to themselves and their motivations. We recommend experiments and sprints that are known from everyday business life. They help you learn what works and what at least works. It is good to appreciate learning from what at least does not work and not to interpret these experiences as a failure.

Indulging in Christmas Delights and an Active January

The magic of Christmas wraps us in its soft embrace, and we indulge with pleasure in various Christmas treats. December days are often filled with delicious meals, sweet pastries, and relaxation in the corner of the sofa, and that’s a good thing because we need time for a slower pace as well. Although the Christmas season is also full of joy and treats, it’s important to remember that balance is the key.
